Little Cabin is a cross-country ski route in Colorado, about 3 miles from the town of Maryvale. The run is short, under 0.8 miles, and the climb is modest, with a total gain of 220 feet from a starting point of about 8,850 feet to a high of 8,888 feet. The route is rated hard, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.34 miles in, where the grade reaches 26 percent. Winter is the natural season for this ski route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Fraser, at a similar elevation, show January highs around 31°F with lows near -1°F, while June highs reach about 72°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the route, so temperatures on the trail run slightly cooler. Screamer and Waxwing are both cross-country ski routes within a quarter mile. For paddling, Ranch Creek is about 1.3 miles away and the Fraser River about 3.2 miles. Idlewild Campground, roughly 4.7 miles off, offers a place to stay.
