The Spire is a climbing area in the Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and trails, so it works well as a base for a day of bouldering or a longer outing in the district. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Boulder show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 79°F, with July peaking near 88°F. The Pantheon, Hideaway Dome and Trojan Bunny Buttress all lie about 0.1 mile away, and the Coffintop hike is just as close. For a longer walk, Button Rock Trail is about 2 miles off.
