South Sheep Mtn is a mountain biking route in the Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. The ride starts at about 7,066 feet and climbs to roughly 7,689 feet over a distance of about 0.76 miles, with a total gain of 641 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about half a mile in, where the grade reaches 48 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Estes Park show July highs around 80°F with lows near 48°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. Coulson Gulch Trail is about 0.3 miles away, and Salamander Lake Trail is about 1.2 miles off. North Saint Vrain Creek, a canoeing route, is about 0.9 miles away. Olive Ridge Campground, about 4.7 miles away, offers a place to stay.
