Sphinx Rock is a climbing area in Colorado, about half a mile from the town of Pine Grove. It sits right next to the Pine Area and Squat Rock climbing areas, both of which are about 0.1 mile away, so it's easy to pair with those for a full day of climbing. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from the nearby Cheesman weather station show May highs around 67°F and September highs around 76°F, with July and August the warmest months at about 82 to 84°F. Other options close by include the Narrow Gauge mountain biking trail and the Star View Trail, both about 1.4 miles away. Buffalo Campground, roughly 5 miles off, offers a place to stay.
