Second Tier is a bouldering area in the Cache La Poudre Wilderness, part of the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits within designated wilderness. The climbing here is all bouldering, with 16 routes spread across the blocs of Hot Fire Bloc and Narrows Blocs, which both lie about 0.1 mile away. The routes range from V0+ to V11-, with a median grade of V5. Some of the named routes include Milkjug (V0+), Rainbow Direct (V3), Dairy Cow (V5), Over the Rainbow (V6) and Tiger King (V11-). Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at about 7,400 feet show July highs near 79°F with lows around 56°F, while winter highs stay near 40°F. The Cache la Poudre River is about 0.6 mile away, and Lower Narrows Campground is about a mile off. Sheep Mountain Trail and Mount McConnel Nature Trail are both within about 1.6 miles.
