Main Amphitheater is a climbing area in the Hahns Peak-Bears Ears Ranger District of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing spots, with Cougar and Right Wing both about 0.1 mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Spicer weather station, at a similar elevation, run to highs around 77°F in July and 76°F in August, with lows in the low 40s. Winters there are cold, with January highs near 28°F. Hinman Creek is a hike about half a mile away, and Seedhouse Campground is about 1.9 miles off. Paddlers can reach the South Fork Elk River, roughly 3.4 miles away.
