The Jug is a climbing area on city land in the Austin - Russell area of Boulder, Colorado. It sits within the city-managed Austin - Russell land unit, about a mile from the center of town. Fall is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Boulder weather station show September highs around 79°F with lows near 48°F, and October highs around 66°F, while July highs reach about 88°F. The climbing area is right next to several other spots. The Candel Area, Pyramid and Erasable Boulder Complex are all about 0.1 mile away. The Saddle Rock Trail is about 0.2 mile off.
