Hawk-Eagle Ridge is a climbing area in Eldorado Canyon State Park in Colorado, managed by State Fish and Wildlife. It sits among a cluster of climbing routes, with West Ridge - part B - Long John to Verschneidung and West Ridge - part F - The Potato Chip both about a tenth of a mile away. The West Ridge Climbing Access Trail and the Fowler West Trail also start within a tenth of a mile. The area has 70 routes, with 54 in traditional style and a few in sport and mixed climbing. The YDS grades run from 5.0 up to 5.13b, with Gluttony at 5.13b and Rush Buick at 5.7. First ascents are recorded for some of the routes, including Death Card (5.11-) by Wayne Crill and Eric Johnson in 2013 and Gluttony by Tanner Bauer. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 69°F in May to 76°F in September, with July the warmest at about 87°F. That station sits about 400 feet lower than the ridge, so temperatures on the ridge run a little cooler.
