The Gore Mountain Range is a climbing area in the Eagles Nest Wilderness, part of the Dillon Ranger District of White River National Forest in Colorado. The Forest Service manages the land, and the wilderness boundaries put the range within the protected Eagles Nest. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July highs reach about 67°F with lows near 40°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Climax, and snow is common from November through April. The station sits a few thousand feet below the range, so temperatures up high run cooler. Several other destinations lie within a short drive. Slate Creek Trail, a mountain biking route, is about 3.3 miles away. South Rim Black Creek is a hike at 3.9 miles. Anglers can head to Upper Piney, about 4.3 miles off, and climbers can find Easter Egg Boulder roughly 6.1 miles away.
