Pioneer is a mountain biking route in Colorado's Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, within the Hahns Peak-Bears Ears Ranger District. It is managed by the Forest Service and runs about 3.5 miles, climbing roughly 1,077 feet from a low point of 8,013 feet to a high of 9,052 feet. The route's steepest stretch comes at about 0.58 miles in, where the grade reaches 20 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from the nearby Spicer weather station, which sits about 667 feet lower than the route's high point, show July highs around 77°F with lows near 42°F, while winter highs there stay below freezing. Creekside and the Crekside Connector Trail both lie within a half mile of the route. Climbers can find Blob Rock about 1.5 miles away, and Granite Campground is about 4.5 miles off for anyone planning an overnight stay.
