Silver Lake is a 2-mile out-and-back hike in the Norwood Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in western Colorado. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route rises from about 10,500 feet to nearly 11,800 feet, a climb of 1,277 feet. The trail is natural-surface and rated hard. The trip starts at a low point of about 10,500 feet and reaches a high point near 11,800 feet. It works year-round, and the trail stays open all season. Bikes and horses are not allowed. The Bridal Veil Trail #636 for mountain biking is about 0.3 miles away, and the Bridal Veil Creek hike is about 0.4 miles off. Climbers can head to Main Wall and Streaked Wall, each about half a mile from the trail.
