Dunckley Pass is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Colorado's Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, within the Yampa Ranger District. The route is about a quarter mile long, with a low point of 9,772 feet and a high of 9,813 feet, so the climb is a gentle 41-foot gain over the course of the trip. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Spicer, CO, show July highs around 77°F with lows near 42°F, and the station sits well below the pass, so temperatures up high run cooler. The W.
