Crosscut is an easy hike of about 1.3 miles in the Dillon Ranger District of White River National Forest in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a low point of about 9,180 feet and a high of about 9,376 feet, and it gains about 180 feet of elevation. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Dillon show July highs around 75°F with lows near 38°F, while winter highs stay around freezing. The trail is on natural surface and allows both bikes and horses. Placer, another hike, starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Prospector mountain biking trail is about 0.2 mile off. Old Dillon Reservoir #87 and Heaton Bay Campground are each about a mile away.
