Boulder Lake is a moderate hike in Colorado's Flat Tops Wilderness, on the Blanco Ranger District of the White River National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surface. The out-and-back route is about 4.5 miles long, with a one-way climb of roughly 840 feet, from a low of about 8,917 feet to a high of about 9,781 feet. Horses are allowed on the trail, and bikes are not. The surrounding area draws a mix of hikers and riders, with the Big Fish mountain biking trail less than a mile away and Himes Peak Campground about a mile off. Lake Of The Woods, a fishing lake, and Anderson Reservoir, another hike, both sit within about two miles.
