The Spur is a climbing area in the Los Angeles Gateway Ranger District of Angeles National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Broken Glass Boulder about 0.1 mile away and The Panhandle and Temple of Ishtar each about 0.2 mile off. The area has five routes, four of which are sport climbs and one is a trad route. The grades run from 5.7 up to 5.10c/d, with Spur of the Moment at 5.10b and The Naked Spur at 5.10c/d. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. was first climbed by Neal and Chapman on February 8, 2015. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Fairmont show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 77°F, while July and August average in the low 90s.
