Scheelite Crags / PSOM Slab is a climbing area in California's John Muir Wilderness, within the White Mountain Ranger District of Inyo National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits at the edge of the wilderness, with the PSOM Slab and Elderberry Buttress climbing areas each about 0.1 mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Mammoth Lakes put July highs around 78°F with lows near 49°F, while winter highs stay in the low 40s. The crag holds seven routes, with alpine and trad styles making up the bulk. Grades run from 5.7 to 5.12a, and the hardest route is the sport climb The Flight Of Icarus at 5.12a. Alpine climbers will find Dream of Wild Lizards at 5.7 and Lizard Warrior at 5.11c/d.
