Morgan Mine Road is a 6-mile out-and-back hike in the White Mountain Ranger District of Inyo National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It climbs from about 7,380 feet to 9,188 feet, a gain of roughly 1,800 feet, and is rated hard. The route is open year-round. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows horses and bikes. It is not an accessible route. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July averages from the Mammoth Lakes weather station, about 25 miles away, run around 78°F for the high and 49°F for the low. Winter highs there hover near 41°F with lows in the teens. Two peaks, Mount Julius Caesar and Merriam Peak, sit about 0.1 mile from the route, and the La Escuela and Uptown Rock climbing areas are within half a mile.
