Roadside Rock is a bouldering area on Bureau of Land Management land within the Eagle Lake Field Office in California. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with Forever Young just 0.1 mile away and Dogpile Corridor and The Outskirts each about 0.3 mile off. The closest other climbing area is Taylor Bay, roughly a mile away. The area is a bouldering destination, with six routes all rated on the V scale. The grades run from V0 to V7, and the styles are all bouldering. Among the named routes are Road kill at V0, Road Rage at V3, and High Road at V7. The Outskirts and Dogpile Corridor are both within a third of a mile, so climbers can easily string together several areas in one outing. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 67°F, while July and August average in the upper 80s. That station sits about 1,000 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler.
