Merit Boulders is a bouldering area in South Yuba River State Park in California, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with the Hoyt Trail and the Druid Rock climbing area both within a quarter mile. The boulders here are all boulder problems, and the routes run from V0 to V2 on the V scale. The easiest are Empyrean Flake and Life Arete at V0, and the hardest are High Seam Traverse and Life Energy at V2. The area is small, with seven routes in total, so it works well as a short stop rather than a full-day outing. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 78°F, while July and August average about 94°F with almost no rain. Nearby, the Hoyt Trail and the Druid Rock climbing area are both about 0.2 miles away. Shady Creek, a canoeing spot, is roughly 3 miles off, and Hornswoggle campground is about 8 miles away.
