Druid Rock is a bouldering area in South Yuba River State Park in California, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with the South Yuba River: 49 Crossing climbing area and the Hoyt Trail both about 0.1 mile away. The area is a bouldering destination, with five routes listed, all of them boulders. The grades run from V0-1 up to V4, with Shadow Slab 1 at V0 and Spiritual Seam at V4. Shadow Areté and Shadow Slab 1 were both first ascended by Matthew Margulies on June 28, 2018. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 78°F, while July and August average highs near 94°F. Other nearby options include the Independence Trail East, about 0.7 mile away, and Shady Creek, a canoeing spot about 2.8 miles off.
