Makeover Stones is a climbing area in Skofield Park, a city-managed park in California. It sits on city land, and the park's other climbing areas and trails lie close by, making it easy to pair with other outings in the same corner of the park. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Santa Barbara show highs around 72°F in May and 78°F in August and September, with almost no wet days from June through September. That station sits well below the park, so temperatures at the climbing area run cooler. Broken Boulder and Pissoir Boulder are both about 0.1 mile away, and the Rattlesnake hike starts just as close. For an overnight stay, Upper Oso Campground is about 7.6 miles away.
