Main Area is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land within the Mother Lode Field Office in California. It sits among several other climbing spots, with Great Flake, Dinkum Gulley and Cosumnes River Bouldering all about 0.1 mile away. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Placerville weather station show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 77°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. Paddlers can head to the North Fork Cosumnes River, about 7 miles away, and campers will find Sly Guard Cabin roughly 7 miles off. Cedar Park and Fleming Meadow Loop are both within about 9 miles.
