High Peaks Central is a climbing area in Pinnacles National Park, within the Hain Wilderness in California, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among several other climbing and hiking destinations, so it works well as a base for exploring the surrounding peaks and trails. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 82°F, while July and August average about 96°F. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet below the area, so temperatures up high run cooler. A fee is charged for entry. The High Peaks Trail and Tunnel Trail both start about 0.1 mile away, and the Condor Crags climbing area is just as close. High Peaks North is about 0.3 mile off.
