High Peaks is a climbing area in Pinnacles National Park, within the Hain Wilderness in California, managed by the National Park Service. It sits about a mile from the park's visitor center and the surrounding network of trails and crags. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 82°F, while July and August average about 96°F. That station sits roughly 800 feet below the peaks, so temperatures up high run cooler. A fee is charged for entry to the park. High Peaks Central, a climbing area, lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Tunnel Trail and High Peaks Trail are both about 0.2 mile off. For a change of pace, the San Benito River offers canoeing about 9 miles away.
