Free Spirit Boulder is a climbing area in the Mountaintop Ranger District of San Bernardino National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits within the network of climbing spots on the national forest's Mountaintop side, and two other bouldering areas, End of The Road and Tin Can Alley, are just 0.1 mile away. The most comfortable months for climbing are late spring through early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Big Bear Lake weather station, which sits a few hundred feet lower, run from highs around 66°F in May to about 80°F in July, with only a couple of wet days a month in that stretch. Winter is much colder, with highs in the mid-40s and lows near 24°F from December through February. Tanglewood Group Camp is about 0.9 mile away, and Van Dusen Canyon Spur is a hike about 1.5 miles off.
