The Femme Fatale Area is a bouldering area in California's Los Padres National Forest, within the Santa Barbara Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the climbing sits just 0.1 mile from the Meilee Area and the Big Heat, making it a natural pairing for climbers working the cluster. The routes are all bouldering, and the grade range stretches from V0 up to V10-11. The median is V3, so climbers of all levels can find something to work on. Brigid O'Shaunessy is the easiest at V0, while Enter Sandman, at V10-11, is one of the hardest. Prohibition Traverse, a V7, was first climbed by Andy Patterson. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Gibraltar Dam weather station show May highs around 80°F with lows near 46°F, and October highs around 83°F with only about two wet days. That station sits roughly 1,400 feet lower than the area, so expect cooler temperatures on the rock. Beyond the climbing, Fremont Campground offers saltwater fishing about 4 miles away, and Rattlesnake Trail and Paradise Campground are also within about 4 miles.
