Echo Summit is a climbing area in the Placerville Ranger District of Eldorado National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits in the heart of a cluster of trails, climbing spots and waterways, with several other outdoor destinations within a few miles. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Dagget Pass weather station, which sits at nearly the same elevation, show July highs around 75°F with lows near 49°F and only about one or two wet days a month. Winter brings highs in the mid-30s and lows in the low 20s. The closest neighbors are the Frog Pond Loop hike, about 1.2 miles away, and the PCT Echo Summit Connector, about 1.3 miles away. Berkeley Camp Rocks and Christmas Valley, both climbing areas, are within about 2 miles.
