Berkeley Camp Rocks is a climbing area in the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit of California, managed by the Forest Service. The surrounding national forest setting makes it a natural stop for climbers exploring the Tahoe region. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July averages from the Dagget Pass weather station, about 13 miles away and at a similar elevation, run around 75°F for highs and 49°F for lows, with only about one or two wet days in August. The Echo Lakes Ski Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail both pass within a mile, and Echo Edge and Christmas Valley offer more climbing close by. For paddling, the Upper Truckee River is about 1.4 miles away.
