Double Butte Mountain is a bouldering area in California, about a mile from the town of Menifee. It is a cluster of boulders rather than a single peak, and the climbing here is all on rock rather than on a route with a defined climb. The boulders sit at a low elevation, and the area is best suited to warm weather. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in San Jacinto show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 82°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. Winter is mild, with highs in the mid-60s and lows in the low 40s. The climbing is straightforward, with seven boulders listed and all of them rated between V0-1 and V3. Uncle Sam is the easiest at V0-1, and Gettin' Lippy is the hardest at V3. The boulders are close together, so it's easy to move from one to another in a single visit. Other climbing areas within a few miles include Ramona Egg Ranch Boulders, Serengeti and Sweet Relief. For a hike, Salt Creek Trail is about 3.4 miles away.
