Darwin Dome is a climbing area in Joshua Tree National Park, within the Joshua Tree Wilderness in California. The National Park Service manages the land, and the park's wilderness boundaries make this a backcountry destination. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Yucca Valley run from highs around 73°F in April to about 80°F in October, while summer highs reach the mid-90s. A fee is charged for access to the park. That station sits several hundred feet below the dome, so temperatures up here run a little cooler. The Galapagos and Iguana climbing areas are each about 0.1 mile away. Lost Pencil is about 1.1 miles off, and the Lost Horse Mine Loop Trail lies roughly 2.3 miles away.
