The Dana Boulder is a bouldering area in California's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing and outdoor destinations on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe, with Railroad Grade just 0.1 mile away and Trout Creek about 0.3 mile off. The area has six bouldering routes, all rated between V1 and V4-5. The Dana Problem is the easiest at V1, and In The Library is the hardest at V4-5. The Dana Problem Sit Start and Rockville Traverse are both V3. All the routes were first ascended by Levi Darling Grant between April and May 2020. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the South Lake Tahoe airport weather station, about 1.6 miles away, show July and August highs around 80°F with lows near 40°F and only about two wet days a month. Winter highs there hover around 43°F. Nearby, Hope Valley campground is about 1.9 miles away, and Fallen Leaf Campground is about 5 miles off. Lake Tahoe - South Shore offers lake fishing about 2.6 miles away, and Quality Boulder is about 2.5 miles away.
