The Charlatan is a climbing area in the Western Divide Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with The Sorcerer and The Witch both about 0.1 mile away. The area holds 10 routes, mostly trad with one boulder, and grade ranges from 5.7 up to 5.12a/b. Among the named routes are Charlatan Summit Spire (a.k.a. Our Lady of the Needles) at 5.7, Superstition at 5.11+, and Pins and Needles at 5.12a/b. The boulder route is graded V4.
