Catacombs is a bouldering area in the White Mountain Ranger District of Inyo National Forest in California, about 20 miles from Mammoth Lakes. It sits among several other climbing areas, including Devil Boulder and The Psychedelic Hideaway, each about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with 29 routes spread across the area. Grades run from V0- to V5, with V0 as the median. Saddle Up Your Thoughts and Rope Them In is the hardest route at V5, and Problem is the easiest at V0-. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mammoth Lakes show July highs around 78°F and lows near 49°F, while winter highs stay around 41°F with lows in the teens.
