Castle Rock Area is a climbing area in California, about 4.5 miles from the town of San Lorenzo Park. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 67°F in May to about 71°F in October, with only a handful of wet days in June, July and August. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run a little cooler. Saratoga Gap Trail, a mountain biking route, is just 0.1 mile away, and the Skyline To The Sea Trail starts about 0.3 mile off. Climbers can also reach Castle Rock Area Bouldering at about 1.4 miles and Summit Rock at about 1.8 miles.
