The Forest Service manages the surrounding land, and the climbing sits close to the Erratica Central bouldering area, about 0.1 mile away, with Erratica West about 0.3 mile off. The area has five bouldering routes, all graded on the V scale. The easiest is Pencil Necked Geek at V3, and the hardest is Boing Dexterity at V7-. The other routes run from V4 through V6-. The warmest stretch runs from June through September, when typical averages from a nearby weather station at South Lake Tahoe show highs around 80°F in July and August and lows in the mid-30s to low 40s.
