The Bishop Area is a climbing area in the White Mountain Ranger District of Inyo National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits within the Bishop region, and the surrounding land is part of the national forest's ranger district. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Huntington Lake show July and August highs around 74°F with lows near 49°F and only one or two wet days a month. That station sits about 1,000 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler. Several climbing areas lie close by. Get Carter Boulder is about 0.7 miles away and Secrets of the Beehive Area about 0.9 miles. For an overnight stay, Horton Creek Campground is about 2.2 miles off, and the Mount Tom hike is about 3.4 miles away.
