The Asteroids climbing area sits in the Feather River Ranger District of Plumas National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It is a cluster of climbing spots rather than a single route, and several other named areas lie within a short distance. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Strawberry Valley weather station show May highs around 68°F and October highs around 70°F, with only a few wet days in each month. That station sits about 600 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up here run a little cooler. Bunny Blocks, Main Area and Bald Rock Picnic Area are all about 0.1 mile away. Berry Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 2.4 miles off.
