The Approach Boulders are a climbing area within Columbia State Historic Park in California, managed by State Park and Recreation. The park's historic setting makes it a natural base for exploring the boulders that sit close together in this corner of the park. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Sonora weather station show May and October highs around 76°F with only a few wet days, while July and August average highs in the low 90s. Stage Coach Boulders and Horse Trail Boulders are both within a quarter mile, and Labyrinth, The is about 0.2 miles away. For a change of pace, the Summit Trail hike is roughly 3 miles off.
