Timber Cruise Trail is a short, easy mountain biking route in California's Tahoe National Forest, within the Truckee Ranger District. The trail is an out-and-back that covers about 0.6 miles, with a low point of 6,259 feet and a high of 6,304 feet, so the one-way climb is about 35 feet. The Forest Service manages the land. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 82°F with lows near 44°F and only about two wet days in the month. Winter is much colder, with January highs around 41°F and lows near 17°F. The trail sits close to several other outings. Sawtooth and Compass Skills Lower Loop are both about 0.1 mile away. Granite Flat campground is roughly a mile off, and Memorial Boulder, a climbing area, is about 1.3 miles away.
