Sawtooth Trail is a short, easy mountain biking route in the Truckee Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. The out-and-back trip covers about 3.7 miles, with a one-way elevation gain of 123 feet. The low point sits at 6,230 feet and the high at 6,349 feet, so it's a gentle climb with no real challenge. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 82°F with lows near 44°F and only about two wet days that month. Winter brings highs in the low 40s and lows near 17°F. Several other spots sit close by. The Sawtooth and Wood Splitter Jump Trail are both within half a mile, and Granite Flat campground is about 0.4 miles away. Climbers can head to Coldstream Canyon, about 2.3 miles off.
