Midge Creek is a mountain biking route in the High Sierra Ranger District of Sierra National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. The ride covers about 1.6 miles, climbing roughly 780 feet from a low point of about 7,500 feet to a high of about 8,300 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from the nearby Huntington Lake weather station show July and August highs around 74°F with lows near 49°F and only one or two wet days a month. That station sits well below the route, so temperatures on the climb run cooler. The Badger Flats Group campground is about 0.3 miles away, and the California Riding and Hiking Trail is about half a mile off. Potter Pass Cutoff, another mountain biking route, is about 1.2 miles away.
