Rattlesnake Creek is a mountain biking route in California's Ansel Adams Wilderness, within the High Sierra Ranger District of Sierra National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the ride covers 1.8 miles with a total elevation gain of 332 feet, from a low point of 6,749 feet to a high of 6,982 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from the nearby Huntington Lake weather station show July and August highs around 74°F with lows near 49°F and only one or two wet days a month. Winter is much colder, with January highs in the low 40s and lows in the mid-20s. The California Riding and Hiking Trail lies about 1.3 miles away, and Portal Forebay campground is 1.8 miles off. North Mono Crossing and the Rattlesnake Bridge Cutoff, both mountain biking routes, are within about 2 miles.
