Cedar Flat Trail is a short, easy mountain biking route in the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit of California's national forest system, about 1.2 miles from the community of Carnelian Heights. The trail is an out-and-back that covers roughly 0.4 miles, with a one-way climb of about 13 feet from a low point of 7,259 feet to a high of 7,287 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Tahoe City show July highs around 78°F with lows near 46°F and only about one wet day in the month. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. Lakeview Ridge Trail lies just 0.2 miles away, and the Tahoe Rim Trail is about half a mile off. Climbers can head to Crawford Boulder, about a mile away, and Silver Creek Campground is roughly 4.3 miles from the trail.
