Trestle Trail is a 3.3-mile out-and-back hike in California's Eldorado National Forest, within the Placerville Ranger District. The trail rises from about 4,215 feet to 4,538 feet, a climb of 293 feet, and is managed by the Forest Service. Spring and fall bring the most comfortable conditions. Typical averages from the nearby Pacific House weather station, which sits well below the trail, run to highs around 72°F in May and 66°F in October. Summer highs there reach about 90°F. The station records only about a day of rain a month from July through September, while winter months average around 12 wet days each. The trail stays open from May 1 to October 31. For more time on foot, the Nature Center Trail and Tree House Trail lie about 2 miles away. Paddlers can reach Dogtown Creek, about 2 miles off, and Capps Crossing campground sits about 4 miles away.
