Sciaroni is an easy out-and-back hike in California's Eldorado National Forest, within the Placerville Ranger District. The trail is about 1.7 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 379 feet, taking you from a low point of about 3,245 feet to a high of about 3,655 feet. The route is on natural surface, and the Forest Service allows both horses and bikes. It is open year-round, and the nearest town is Placerville. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Pacific House show May highs around 72°F and October highs around 66°F, while July and August average about 90°F. Two other hikes, Camp Creek and Fleming Meadow Loop, both lie about 0.3 miles away. Sly Guard Cabin, a campground, is about 2.8 miles off, and the North Fork Cosumnes River, a canoeing route, is about 4.4 miles away.
