This hike, Mctc: 7N64y to 17Ev17, is an out-and-back on natural surface in the Calaveras Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California. The route is about 2.3 miles long, with an elevation gain of about 650 feet, rising from a low point of about 6,500 feet to a high of about 7,171 feet. It's an easy walk, and the trail is open year-round. The route is on public land managed by the Forest Service, and it allows both hikers and bikes. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in South Lake Tahoe, which sits about 857 feet lower than this trail, show July and August highs around 80°F with only two or three wet days a month.
