A.T.&T. is an easy hike in California's Stanislaus National Forest, within the Calaveras Ranger District. It is a short out-and-back route of about 1.3 miles, with a total elevation gain of about 120 feet from a low point of 7,018 feet to a high of 7,146 feet. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land. The trail is a natural-surface route, and both bikes and horses are allowed. It stays open year-round, and it works well as a quick stop on a longer day in the area. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at South Lake Tahoe show July and August highs around 80°F with only a couple of wet days a month. Winter runs cold, with highs in the low 40s and lows near 18°F. Cow Camp and the Water Tank to Ridge mountain biking route both lie about a mile away. Climbers can head to Warm-up Wall and Seam Slab #1, about 2 miles off, and the Stanislaus River campground sits roughly 2 miles away.
