Mammoth Lakes Pack Station is a short, easy hike in the Mammoth Ranger District of Inyo National Forest, about 0.7 miles from the community of Lake Mary, California. The trail is 0.59 miles long and rises about 51 feet from a low point of 9,045 feet to a high of 9,114 feet, making it a quick out-and-back. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced. It is accessible to horses and bikes, and it is not an accessible trail. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mammoth Lakes show July highs around 78°F with lows near 49°F, while winter highs sit around 41°F with lows in the teens. Coldwater Campground is about half a mile away, and Pine City Campground is about 0.8 miles off. The Coldwater Cg to Lake George hike and Duck Pass are both about 0.4 miles from the trail.
