Lk Alpine Cg to Chickaree is an easy, short out-and-back hike of about 1.9 miles in the Calaveras Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California. The trail rises about 67 feet from a low point of 7,305 feet to a high of 7,373 feet, and it is managed by the Forest Service. The route is natural-surfaced and open to bikes, so it works for hikers and riders alike. It starts close to Lake Alpine, with the Lake Alpine campground and the 07N17 Snow Trail both about 0.1 mile away. The Alpine Bypass Trail, a mountain biking route, is about 0.4 mile off. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation show July highs around 75°F with lows near 49°F and only about two wet days in the month. Winter is much colder, with January highs around 36°F. The trail is open year-round. Lake Alpine Recreation Area, about 0.9 mile away, offers lake fishing, and the North Fork Mokelumne River, about 4 miles away, is a canoeing option.
