Lewis Camp is a hard hike of about 27 miles in the Golden Trout Wilderness, part of the Western Divide Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest in California. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface out-and-back that climbs from about 5,750 feet to about 7,328 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Lodgepole weather station, about 32 miles away, show July and August highs near 76°F with lows in the mid-40s and only a couple of wet days a month. Winter brings highs in the upper 30s and regular snow days. The trail is rated hard, and the climb is one way. Horses are allowed. Fish Creek and Fish Creek Trail both lie within a mile, and Hermit Spires is about a mile away. Quaking Aspen campground is roughly 2.4 miles off.
